I will not forget many things about the last eight days.

Meeting up with two of the best people I've ever known, online or offline. Alpha and Carolyn, you guys are as endlessly entertaining as any given episode of Sesame Street. You're like Robert DeNiro turning into Elmo. That's how awesome you both are.

Eating at Steak & Shake. Niiice. Milkshakes: My anti-drug.

Getting to look around Milledgeville, even if the place sounds like a bad Scrabble hand. It's like they had three different names to choose from and couldn't decide on just one. Really nice place though.

Hunting for ghosts in the abandoned insane asylum. Or were we looking for Riddler Trophies? I can't remember.

Goofing around with Scribblenauts on the back seat of the car. Some of the puzzles in that game have less than complex solutions. How do you stop the ants from eating the sandwich?! Do you use a laser? Or a demon? No, actually, you just... pick up the sandwich.

Eating lots and lots of spicy food. The spicier the better, I always say. Wasabi, you are my new best friend.

Listening to Alpha's commentary on Britain's Most Haunted. "You're doing a sh***y job at your job, lady!"

Dressing up as Yu-Gi-Oh characters and being the very definition of a fail cosplayer. But I enjoyed it nevertheless! I got some very surprised looks from people when they came up and asked for pictures, only to realise it was me when I answered in character. "Oh hey, Bakura, can I get a- OH MY GOD IT'S YOU!"

Meeting fans. I don't mean specifically my fans, though they were so nice to me and made me feel like I've done something significant, I'm talking about fans in general. I've heard a lot of horror stories about animé fans in general and didn't know what to expect, but they were all so patient and polite - but very passionate and excited at the same time. I didn't have a single bad experience. I met so many great people!

Attending the Yu-Gi-Oh Photoshoot and having it turn into one big YGOTAS-fest. People were crowding around us, chanting quotes, joining in with an impromptu performance of episode one. There was a huge queue of people who just wanted to talk to me. In the middle of the hall. It was crazy. I even drew a Téa-inspired Friendship Symbol on people's hands, though I don't think it was permanent marker. Remember guys, the ink may fade, but our bond never will.

Yes, meeting Vic Mignogna. For those of you who can't read lips, he's basically congratulating me on coming to my first big animé convention and being so popular. He was very nice, and I feel bad that I couldn't get to meet up with him again at his signings/panels, despite the fact that he wanted to. He was stalking me the whole con, making announcements on the PA saying that my car was being towed. It was crazy.

Eating so much sushi I felt like I was going to burst. And then eating summore. Wasabi!

Driving around in the pouring rain - at one point heading the wrong way down a one-way road - to the tune of Through The Fire And The Flames. The weather does not dictate our choice in music!

Being marked by one last friendship symbol for Alpha, Carolyn, and myself as we were inevitably separated. Once again, it was like an episode of Sesame Street. Specifically the one where Mr. Hooper died.

And I won't even have to tattoo them to my body to remember.

Now then, where was I?

There's nothing better than getting to hang out with your closest friends, and I'm really happy that the three of you had so much fun together!! You're a very kind person and you have done something significant--you deserve to get to enjoy yourself like you did.

^^ It sounds like you had a good time! The video of you meeting Vic Mignogna was amazing... (are you wearing furry ears?)
23rd-Sep-2009 07:47 am (UTC)
Yes. Bakura is a kitty.
22nd-Sep-2009 08:53 pm (UTC)
Well, you certainly had an awesome time! I'm glad you had fun! And the Vic Mignogna thing was funny, and it shows how awesome you are that he stalked you. x3

I'm glad you had fun. Nothing better than good food, awesome friends, and memorable moments. Good times, indeed. Now to find a way to get you to biggest convention in the country, Anime Expo...

Now then, where was I?

Oh, right. That thing with gay pharaohs and card games...
22nd-Sep-2009 08:56 pm (UTC)
I wonder what Vic thinks of your impersonation of him? lol
22nd-Sep-2009 08:59 pm (UTC)
Sounds like you had an absolute blast.

The video of you meeting Vic Mignoga was amazing too. ^_^

I wish I could've gone. I live in Florida, and have been to Atlanta for cons before, but I just didn't have the money.

Glad to see you had a good time - and your Bakura costume is actually quite good. :D

Memento is a fantastic movie, btw. More awesome points to you for referencing it in this post.

Eating at Steak & Shake. Niiice. Milkshakes: My anti-drug.

While steaks and milkshakes seem like an odd combo, I gotta agree with you on milkshakes being awesome. What flavor did you get?

Hunting for ghosts in the abandoned insane asylum.

That sounds awesome, yet also horrifying... O_O
I don't know why, but if I was going to go ghost hunting, I think I'd pick somewhere other than an asylum. I'm not sure why, Too many movies, maybe (well, and this. Yike).

I got some very surprised looks from people when they came up and asked for pictures, only to realise it was me when I answered in character.

Hee, awesome. I could totally see myself doing that. ^_^

at one point heading the wrong way down a one-way road

Oh, that's not good... I have a brother who's lived in Africa off and on for the last eight years or so, and sometimes when he's in the States, he'll start driving down the wrong side of the road. It's like, "Uh, Wayne.." "Oops!" [swerves over to the correct side]

I'm glad you had a good time! I hope you can come back some time. If you do, maybe you can come a little further west. ^_^

Never been to a Steak & Shake, I see? NEVER an odd combo.
22nd-Sep-2009 09:37 pm (UTC)
That's awesome. I have super fangirl giggles over the whole thing for some bizarre reason.
22nd-Sep-2009 09:44 pm (UTC)
YAY You guys finally got to meet! And nobody got puked on...or killed. :D

Now then, *puts microphone in LK's face* What's next for Little Kuriboh?

I think you were last seen glomping a light post, shouting "don't make me leave" repeatedly. At least according to rumor. But then again, I also heard you survived an encounter with the competing voice actor, Vic Mignogna. Who, as we all know, have been trying to kill you for over a year now. But as if that wasn't ridiculous enough, apparently, you were seen dressed as "Neko Bakura". Oh, I know. Ridiculous, right? Well, if you ask me, the people who make these things up should to be locked away. Preferably in an insane asylum. Or they should make their own abridged series- whatever works. ' glad you've been having a swell time.

I'm not sure about the light post thing, but he did survive the encounter with Vic and was definitely dressed up as Neko Bakura.

If I went up to a random Bakura cosplayer and he answered in your voice I would flip out. That's so inspiring I can hardly stand it!
22nd-Sep-2009 10:04 pm (UTC)
That... sounded like so much fun. It had me squeeing throughout the post. I wish I had been there now.
22nd-Sep-2009 10:20 pm (UTC)
STEAK AND SHAKE! I've never been, but I hear their fries (or chips, whatever) are like spaghetti.
22nd-Sep-2009 10:34 pm (UTC)
Glad you had fun! ^^ Thank you for the hugs and letting me take my picture with you. I was the one girl who said that you were the first British person I have ever met. Sorry if I let my fangirl show a little too much.
22nd-Sep-2009 10:35 pm (UTC)
Wow that's great! I'm really happy that you got a chance to have fun, I think you really deserved it!
22nd-Sep-2009 10:46 pm (UTC)

22nd-Sep-2009 10:52 pm (UTC)

There I was- MINDING MY OWN BUSINESS, wandering down a previously crazy crowded aisle in the Dealer Room on Sunday. Wandered across a lil booth selling kickass YGOTAS t-shirts. Suddenly, one of the two gentleman manning the booths politely interrupted my shopping mode with a greeting. I looked up and saw one normal dressed guy next to some guy dressed as Bakura wearing white fluffy kitty ears. At a quick glance, I noticed the hastily scribbled "LittleKuriboh" on the Bakura's name badge. I took a quick look at the person wearing it and thought it was a cheesey joke. "You're not LittleKuriboh!" C'mon, I thought, don't be lame and try to be cool by pretending to be awesome. Then I heard a limey voice.. "OMG You're *LittleKuriboh*..." 0_0 You ninja'd me. Totally did not expect to run into you like that. Just kept thinking myself, "Don'tbeweird, Don'tbeweird, Don'tbeweird" So I tried to be cool, I restrained my squee, despite forcing your friend to take a picture with you. Then I left to finish the dealer room cause I didn't want to monopolize your time. I totally forgot to ask if you'd seen 5ds! I went back to talk to you again and the guy was closing up the booth. I saw you in the hall later but you were surrounded by people. Still, quite a treat to meet ya in the flesh. Come back to the States anytime. And to compare my blue kitty ears. Did you get to check out any of the panels, or see FullMetal Fantasy? Great that you got to meet Vic, mebbe you can join the Rangers!

That sounds like something Viccy would do!XD Super sweet and sincere one minute (Romi Paku can confirm that), fanboyish and playful the next. Just like Tamaki, with the piano playing skills to boot.^_^

Wonderful to hear you had a super-special-awesome time!
22nd-Sep-2009 11:11 pm (UTC)
OMG! LK! Your awesome! I wish I could go to a convention and meet you... I have nothing more going on, this is my life! Meeting you would be my biggest achievement since being born! Your epic! Stay epic! We will one day meet if fate has it! Look out for a dark blade! XD
