The internet is unforgiving, and as such, will not accept what doesn't please anon. But in my opinion, WhiteAsh isn't bad as such she just needs to practice a bit more. Just because she's not perfect doesn't mean there isn't a possibility she can improve over time with a little more practice. I'm sure if she tries hard enough, she'll get better as time goes on.

Man, I'm trying to remember the Ishizu/Kaiba duel. From what I do remember, I'm hoping there's a lot more Giant Rock jokes.

There's ONE giant rock line, and it's fairly small. I didn't wanna rely on old gags for these eps.

I don't have a live journal so I have to post as an anonymous person but thankfully I don't share any of the views of those other insensitive twats. I just thought I'd tell you that I personally like your stuff a lot and I like when you team up with LK. So just keep doing what you're doing and have fun with it and don't pay any attention to the whiners.

I'm sorry, what? I don't think I saw the last entry you made, but if peole did what you say they did, then I'm both disappointed and disgusted. Since WHEN do others have the right to say who you should and shouldn't work with? beh, man, the videos you do are for your own sake, enjoyment and satisfaction first and foremost. Whoever you enjoy doing them with is your own choice, and the result of doing it with people you like is a better overall synergy between actors anyway. The Metal Gear videos have been amazing and hilarious, and I think it is great that you are doing them because more people need to know about hiimdaisy's comics. It is your choice to post any video you make for the internet to see, and I for one am grateful that you do, as they have saved my bad days and improved my good days more times than I can count.

On_a_corndog does a great job in the vids, so damn right don't let anybody tell you otherwise and keep on making them.

Panto is short for pantomime. A panto is a style of performance... Usually over the top and constantly breaks the forth wall (although not always... It depends on who is doing it)They are also quite often based on fairytales... Aladdin is just what they are performing in the panto style... I have been in Cinderella, Robin hood, Sleeping beauty and Aladdin... this year I am in Beauty and the beast =)

What's a panto? I haven't been in the theater world in a few years, and I think I remember someone saying it's a Brit thing? But I can't for teh life of me remember what it is.

It's not just British, although most of the places where it happens are former UK colonies or have close links to the mother nation. :)

Basically, it's a development of the Commedia del'Arte, but in a much more light-hearted vein. There are very strong character archetypes, including the principal boy (the hero, usually played by a girl), the dame (a man in drag), pantomime animal (two players in a suit) and the villain, usually accompanied by two comedic sidekicks.

There is always a lot of audience participation (there is no fourth wall to speak of, especially for the dame and villain, who address the audience as often as other cast members) and plenty of participation from the crowds. Classic tropes are the audience attempting to draw the hero's attention to the villain's presence ("HE'S BEHIND YOU!") and a disagreement between the villain or dame and the crowd ("OH NO HE ISN'T" / "OH YES HE IS!"). In all cases, maximum volume is encouraged from the audience, hence the caps. :)

The most common pantos include: Cinderella, Dick Whittington, Jack and the Beanstalk, Aladdin, Sleeping Beauty and Mother Goose. Snow White is less common due to the requirement for dwarves, and Rapunzel and the Three Bears both crop up from time to time.

I like your Metal Gear Solid videos. They are a nice break from the abridged series, and it's great to see you practicing your vocal talents. (Not to mention you do a great job at pulling off Snake's voice.)
