super special awesome
I officially take back every bad word I ever uttered about YouTube users.

The amount of support they've shown me since the first two episodes were taken down has been staggering. I've seen an outpouring of messages from people with words of encouragement, offers of assistance, etc. It's like the polar opposite of what I was seeing two weeks ago.

Unfortunately, the problem still exists. But it may not for very much longer. I do indeed have a new place to put the Abridged Series - two, in fact - but I'm going to hold off announcing it until I'm all set up and ready, otherwise I might screw it all up somehow. Hopefully I'll be able to set you guys up with a link within the next day or so. Right now I'm busy taking care of my sister, who remains blissfully unaware that I even have a YouTube account.

Of course, once I move all my Abridged episodes to a new location, there'll still be the question of what to do with my YouTube account. After all, I have around 30,000 subscribers. That could always change, I guess, once people realise Abridged won't be featured there anymore.

In the meantime, here's a couple of noteworthy videos regarding what's happened to my videos:

Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series PETITION!

Yu-Gi-Oh satire banned?

whoops sorry for commenting twice. can you delete the other one? thanks

Pft. Petitions NEVER work. Best advice right now hon, is just sit back and see what happens, upload them somewhere or something. And I saw keep the youtube account..but that's up to you. I don't upload crap but I have it because some videos you can't watch unless you sign up with them.
10th-Mar-2007 09:34 pm (UTC)
I'm aware the petitions probably won't work, but it's still awfully nice that someone decided to make one... I've never inspired a petition before, as far as I know. *blush*
10th-Mar-2007 09:38 pm (UTC)
I think it's so awesome that this movement has started...even if nothing comes of it (I hope youtube realizes their mistake and puts back the videos of course but...well, we'll see) it must be nice to know that you have your own little army out there.
10th-Mar-2007 09:39 pm (UTC)
Despite the rather ineffectiveness of petitions, I signed up for Youtube and commented. Hopefully everything works out, and you'll be able to find somewhere to host your videos!
10th-Mar-2007 09:39 pm (UTC)
That's great that you've become so popular and that people are willing to do this for you. Just admit it, your work is brilliant. 8D Good luck finding a new place.
10th-Mar-2007 09:41 pm (UTC)
While many of your comments come from people who lack a sense of humor and perspective, I think most of your viewers genuinely appreciate your videos. They're works of art to me.

I shall eagerly await news of your new home, and I will do my part to help spread the news when it appears!
10th-Mar-2007 09:47 pm (UTC)
Hey, I'd still be subscribed to you because you're such an interesting person. Heehee.
10th-Mar-2007 09:49 pm (UTC)
Hoorays! people can be awesome sometimes. I hope it all works out!
10th-Mar-2007 10:08 pm (UTC)
you have to remember most of your fans have just been sitting back ignore those hater idiots because there just not worth it.
Now something serious has happened all your fans have come out of the works to say
"OI YOUTUBE GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER"
10th-Mar-2007 10:23 pm (UTC)
Excellent!!! Still, safer to have on a site where the owners are less likely to get twitchy.
10th-Mar-2007 10:36 pm (UTC) - Some questions/suggestions
Anonymous
I've loved your videos for a long time, and I'm really glad to hear that the series won't end after this little screwup on YouTube's part.

I have some questions/suggestions about the future site:

1) Will you be uploading lower-bandwidth versions of the videos for those on slower connections?

2) Will there be an RSS feed for people to subscribe to, to get updates?

3) Are you going to set up something like Wordpress and move this blog there as well?

4) Will there still be a way for people to comment on the videos?

Don't feel like you need to implement all of these at once; they're just suggestions. Awesome luck to you and all involved!

P.S. The live video made me laugh hysterically. At least _something_ good came out of this mess.
10th-Mar-2007 10:56 pm (UTC) - Re: Some questions/suggestions
Got an account so I could say: I shouldn't make suggestions without offering help, so...

If you need anyone to make a layout, or even install Wordpress for you, let me know. I've done it before, and would be happy to volunteer to help out.
10th-Mar-2007 10:40 pm (UTC)
I, too, created a video supporting you on youtube, which is crazy because I never planned to make a video of myself on something like that, EVER... but this is a worthy cause, so I thought I'd help you out. 100% support all the way! ;D

(Oh, I suppose I should tell you I put it up as a video response. My udername is aceticacidplease, in case you were wondering who that was xD)
10th-Mar-2007 11:56 pm (UTC)
I don't see you on there...
10th-Mar-2007 10:59 pm (UTC)
You fans will stay with you - we all think you're awesome and no matter where the series is featured, we're still going to follow it and still going to love it.

Glad to hear you have a place to put them too. Look forward to seeing AS go to a new home!
10th-Mar-2007 10:59 pm (UTC)
It's awsm that you found a new place to put your stuff. Hopefully that location won't be as lame as youtube.
10th-Mar-2007 11:11 pm (UTC)
I once wondered to myself exactly what would happen the day one of your episodes was taken down from Youtube and I came to the conclusion that your fans would rampage and make Youtube feel very very sorry XD
This has gotten such an amazing response, glad you have found a new home for the series though, but the deletion of some of your series has certinly made people stand up and think about whteher Youtube's actions are right or wrong.

Even though I know the petition most likely won't work, I signed it anyway ^^ If only to say, "Yeah, I don't agree with what's been happening as a parody maker myself"
10th-Mar-2007 11:17 pm (UTC)
Well, you could always upload a video saying where the Abridged series has moved to. I'm glad that you've got a solution, hopefully whatever it is won't give out like YouTube did.

(By the way- nice choice of music ;) )
10th-Mar-2007 11:33 pm (UTC)
Yay!! We love LK and his Abridged Series^^ *Waves flag*
10th-Mar-2007 11:40 pm (UTC)
*Just notices* Were you seriously listening to Ode to Joy when you posted this? Hehe^^
10th-Mar-2007 11:56 pm (UTC)
The irony is, for me, that your vids are so popular and seem to have really revived the Yu-Gi-Oh fandom.
Think of it this way: I got into Yu-Gi-Oh, in part at least, because I watched the Abridged series.
Then I showed my friend, who was already deeply into Yu-Gi-Oh, but who is also president of BAMS, (Bangor Anime and Manga Society) and HE is currently showing an ep every week to all the members of BAMS who may well also be drawn in by it.
There's a word for such panomina.
Advertising.
Who can argue with that?
11th-Mar-2007 01:15 am (UTC)
I know what you mean. :) I was into YGO a few years ago, but I...just kind of stopped being into it. I found TAS by chance and I fell in love with YGO all over again.
11th-Mar-2007 12:07 am (UTC) - More famous than you realize...
I bought a Beckett Yu-Gi-Oh! magazine this week and found a reference to your work on page 32: CLICK-Y!

I guess it's not just YouTube users that enjoy your work, eh?
11th-Mar-2007 12:58 am (UTC) - Re: More famous than you realize...
That's a reference to Sony's Playstation 3 conference video, though...
11th-Mar-2007 12:31 am (UTC)
Yay! Missed the original post, but it's not like they can pull it off anyways. Parodies and satire are protected by copyright law. WizKids can't bitch about that.

I'll put up a rant against Youtube in my own LJ.
11th-Mar-2007 01:07 am (UTC)
It would be a good step for you to make your own site. Youtube can no longer be trusted. You can make a section for abridged, hopefully more c*psle monsters, extras, and a way to download episodes off that site. I signed the petition, it probably won't work but there are a lot of signitures.
11th-Mar-2007 03:19 am (UTC)
awesome to see things are starting to come together!

as for your 30,000 subscribers, continue to post them on YouTube, but leave a comment at the end of your videos that states your videos can be found elsewhere at so-and-so website. Also give a time limit as well, say like the next 4-5 episodes are going to be posted on YouTube and after that exclusively to your website. That way it gives people enough time to realize where your work is going.
11th-Mar-2007 05:25 am (UTC)
I like this idea.
11th-Mar-2007 04:27 am (UTC)
i've been wanting to comment on your videos, so here it goes :D

your videos rock, the editing of the episodes is amazing and the timing just kills me
i always look forward to the cuts you make and how well everything is timed and in sync, as well as the YGO humor XD
and the fact that you do all the voices gives you +10 billion awesome points

keep up the spectacular work :D

[[p.s. i friended your LJ a while ago, i hope you don't mind ^^;;]]
11th-Mar-2007 06:21 pm (UTC)
Don't mind at all :)
11th-Mar-2007 04:47 am (UTC)
Well, hello. Just dropping a quick note to say I'm so sorry for what's happened to you- it's just harsh. But I'm glad that, like me, tons of fans are showing support. I mean, YouTube WAS pretty harsh- and contradictory like that. Meh. But anyways, I'd also like to congratulate you for making such a great series- you've really hit it off with your super special awesome series. For now I conclude with a small invitation:

^_^ Call it a homage or something. I'm making my own Abridged series: Kingdom Hearts- a PS2 game, for those in the dark. If you get the chance to watch it, I'd appreciate any advice, may it be technical and such.

Good luck with this- looking forward to your future videos!
11th-Mar-2007 10:50 pm (UTC)
Oh, and BTW, I befriended your journal. Hope you don't mind. ^^ Hope to see ya around on DailyMotion or something. ^_^ And enjoy my series. XD
11th-Mar-2007 04:54 am (UTC)
I agree that you should post on youtube that your videos will be put elsewhere, Your work is amazing and your fans will follow you and continue to support you! I'm looking forwards to your videos and Good Luck ^-^
